Male patients suffering from infertility should consult to an urologist who specializes in IVF treatment. The physician will learn the patient’s history and conducts a physical examination.
On the physical examination, physician will check the conditions of testicles, sperm channels and existence of varicocele. Your physician may request a sperm analyses (spermiogram) and other tests, depending on the observations from the patient’s history and physical examination.
On the sperm analyses, sperm count, mobility and morphology are examined. Before the sperm analyses, male partner should not have any kind of ejaculation for 48 hours. As the sperm count may show difference, sperm analyses should be repeated at least twice.
